How County Brief works
Last updated: August 28, 2026
County Brief is a hyper-local dashboard for Sussex County, New Jersey. It is unofficial: not a newspaper of record, not a government website, and not affiliated with Sussex County government or any municipality.
What is aggregated
We collect publicly available material and link to the original publisher:
- News headlines from local outlets
- Events, weather, real-estate listings, and business notices
- Agendas, minutes, and meeting videos from official municipal and county sites
Titles and excerpts are for convenience. Always rely on the original source for the full story or the official record.
What is AI-summarized
Meeting recaps and agenda previews are generated from official documents. They are labeled as AI-generated on the page, in email digests, and on meeting cards. They are informal summaries — not official minutes, legal advice, or a substitute for attending a meeting or reading the source.
If the source is only a packet cover sheet (a filename and a date, with no agenda items), we do not publish an AI recap. Those pages use a short templated description and a link to the official document.
What is human-checked
Recaps are not individually edited before they go live. We spot-check samples for tense errors and factual drift, and we correct problems that readers report. A wrong recap of a real council vote is treated as urgent.
Who is behind it
County Brief is published by Wisdom Digital.
Report an error
If a recap, listing, or other item is wrong, tell us. Include the page if you can. We read every report.
