County Brief (“we,” “us”) is a hyper-local news dashboard published by Wisdom Digital. This policy explains what information we collect when you use countybrief.com and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account and email preferences. If you sign in or subscribe, we store your email address, selected towns and topics, delivery frequency, and related confirmation or unsubscribe tokens.
- Session cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your dashboard preferences, and protect account sessions. These cookies are not used for third-party advertising.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser). Google may set its own cookies. See Google’s privacy policy and opt out of Google Analytics.
- Technical logs. Our servers and content-delivery provider may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to operate and secure the site.
How we use information
We use this information to provide your local dashboard, send the email updates you request (including confirmation and sign-in links), improve the service, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
Public sources
News headlines, events, weather, real-estate listings, business alerts, and government materials on County Brief are aggregated from public sources and official publishers. Those items belong to their original publishers. Following an outbound link is subject to that publisher’s privacy policy.
Transactional messages (confirm your account, sign-in links) and optional daily or weekly digests are sent only because you requested them. Every digest includes an unsubscribe link. You can also delete your subscription from that link.
Retention
We keep account and subscription records while your account is active. Unsubscribing removes you from the mailing list. Server logs are retained only as needed for operations and security.
