Meetings ahead
No Warren County town has posted an agenda for the week of October 19 on County Brief yet. The Washington Borough Council and the Pohatcong Township Council are both expected to meet Tuesday, October 20. Agendas appear on the Warren County government page as towns post them.
Decisions behind
Phillipsburg: the parental responsibility ordinance and the Riverfront
The Town Council's October 13 agenda listed a second reading and public hearing on Ordinance O2026-26, which creates a "Minors and Parental Responsibility" chapter in the town code and places responsibilities on parents and guardians of minors involved in certain offending behavior. TAPinto and WFMZ report that the council instead advanced a revised version at first reading, so a final vote will come at a later meeting.
The same agenda carried Ordinance O2026-27, which raises certain fees in the town code, and Ordinance O2026-28, which amends the redevelopment plan for the Riverfront Redevelopment Area. The consent agenda covered contracts and budget insertions for grants, including a cooperative purchasing agreement. Motions were listed on a firefighter application and a street opening waiver request at 281 Chambers Street. October 13 agenda
Mansfield Township: an acting court administrator and the Adams Street lot
The Township Committee introduced two ordinances on October 14. Ordinance #025-2026 amends the salary ordinance to add a full-time Acting Court Administrator at $60,000 to $85,000. Ordinance #026-2026 authorizes the sale of Block 2707, Lot 9, known as Adams Street, with a minimum bid of $2,300. The committee also certified the township's 2025 annual audit. Both ordinances come back for second reading at a later meeting. October 14 recap
Hope Township: a master plan re-examination
The Township Committee adopted Resolution 2026-52 on October 14, retaining planning services through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs' Local Planning Services program for a Master Plan Re-examination report. The resolution approves the scope of services, forms a Working Committee to work with the state planners and names the mayor as the township's contact. The committee also discussed the Trooper Gonzalez Motorcycle Run on Saturday, October 24, and a facility-use request from H.O.P.E. October 14 recap
White Township: Foul Rift Road, a recreation area and a cell tower
The Township Committee's October 14 agenda opened with a status update on Phases I and II of the Foul Rift Road improvements, then discussion of the CR 519 Recreation Area (project phasing and grants) and preparation of bid documents for a cell tower at the DPW yard. Resolutions on the agenda included a tax overpayment refund (2026-52), in rem foreclosure on tax sale certificates (2026-53), a severance agreement (2026-54) and support for Senate Bill S4042 on lung cancer screening for first responders and veterans (2026-57). The 2027 Community Day and a door access system for the recreation building were listed under new business. October 14 agenda
Allamuchy: Comcast agreements, a fire command vehicle and Hafner Hall
The Township Council's October 14 workshop agenda carried second readings of two ordinances on right-of-way agreements with Comcast for telecommunications and cable service. The consent agenda included buying a command vehicle for the fire department and a policy that bars private rentals of Hafner Hall, with exceptions for community organizations. Internet service for underserved parts of town and grant applications were on the list for discussion. October 14 agenda
