Good morning. This is our weekly look at what your local government is actually doing: what was on the agenda last week, and what is on the calendar next. We read the agendas and minutes for all twenty-four Sussex County municipalities so you do not have to.
This week: Hardyston's land use board has an Aqua NJ site plan and a golf club event building on its agenda Tuesday night, and Hopatcong's land use board had an indoor gym application before it last week.
Meetings ahead
Hardyston: Aqua NJ site plan and a golf club event building
The Hardyston Township Joint Land Use Board meets Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 PM. The posted agenda lists two reviews. The first is Aqua NJ Inc., which is seeking a conditional use (D) variance, C variances, and preliminary and final site plan approval for Block 67, Lot 51.01 and Block 67.12, Lot 1. The second is an extension of approval for CSR Golf Company's new event building on Block 16, Lots 1, 1.09 and 6.02.
The agenda also includes approval of the Sept. 14 minutes and a public comment period. No resolutions are scheduled. The meeting is Tuesday rather than the board's usual Monday because Monday is a holiday.
Further out
The Walpack Township Committee is scheduled to meet Oct. 27. As of Thursday, no other municipality had posted an agenda for the week of Oct. 12. The Government section updates as new agendas arrive.

How to use this
Every meeting mentioned here has its own page on County Brief with a plain-English summary and a link to the original agenda or minutes. Our summaries are AI-generated from the official documents and labeled as such on every page. Where a recap is based on an agenda rather than minutes, we say so, because an agenda tells you what was scheduled, not what was voted. If we get something wrong, there is a "Report an error" link on every page. Please use it.
